Scentsy’s independent consultant, Sharon Lee, says the best choice is a shampoo with a scent that’s not overpowering.
“It should be gentle, but you should not be afraid to use it.
You need to let it go,” she says.
“If it’s too harsh, you don’t need to rinse it.
But if you’re not going to be able to rinse off the shampoo, then maybe you want to add a little bit of essential oils, like lavender, or peppermint.
And then the shampoo will really be the winner.”
She recommends the essential oils of lavender and peppermint for a gentle wash, while the essential oil of cinnamon for a slightly less intense one.
And if you want a little more of a kick, try adding a dash of menthol or lavender oil to your shampoo.
“There are many products out there that have the same essential oils and scent, but that’s the best one,” she explains.
“But I also think that it’s a little overwhelming.
There’s too much.
You want to avoid that feeling of ‘oh, I don’t like this, I’m not going back to this.’
But I think it’s the scent that gives it that kick.”
She also likes the scent of coconut oil for a more intense one, and says that if you need to take a break, try an essential oil like lavander, peppermint, or cinnamon.
But be careful with which scent you choose.
“A lot of people say, ‘Oh, I need that scent and I need a high,’ but it really doesn’t matter.
It’s important to choose a scent with a good amount of scent, and then to keep it going for at least 10 minutes,” she advises.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, Sharon says, just add a splash of water or shampoo to your bath or shower, and wait about 15 minutes.
“You can also try a scrubbing lotion, which is a very gentle scrub,” she adds.
“This is the way to do it, because it doesn’t add any more scent to your shower or bath.
Just rub a little of the lotion over your skin, and rinse.
It will be so much gentler.”
